Walking grades indicate difficulty level. They take account of strenuousness and terrain. No tours demand previous snowshoeing experience.
Grade B (Moderate) – suitable for anyone reasonably active.
4-6 hrs walking per day, comfortable pace, plenty of stops.
Mainly on established trails and/or easy terrain.
Grade C (Strenuous) – a good level of stamina and motivation is required.
6-8hrs walking per day, with significant ascent and descent (up to 1000m).
Often walking untrodden snow, occasionally with some sense of exposure.
Rewards are even better views, and greater sense of wilderness and achievement.

Some tours also include accommodation, and some meals.
Not included are transfers to and from Chamonix from further afield, insurance, ski lift passes (occasionally needed), and suitable clothing including footwear (see below). Please note that suitable travel insurance is a condition of booking (see terms and conditions).
You will receive a kit checklist by email with your booking confirmation. Please read this and pack accordingly, to ensure your comfort and enjoyment.
Footwear is very important. Snowshoes fit almost any hiking boot, but they do not offer protection from cold or wet, and you are likely to be walking in snow most of the time. You need warm, waterproof, comfortable hiking boots. Trainers, casual shoes and ski boots are NOT suitable. If you do not have your own, or you are in doubt as to their suitability, boots can be hired in Chamonix before your trip.
Clothing needs to be warm and waterproof. Outdoor / hiking gear or ski clothing is suitable. Multiple light layers are better than thick heavy ones.
Please ask if you are unsure.
Please see our terms and conditions page.
