There are only so many books you can get through on a week away, and sometimes – just sometimes – you may crave something a little more adventurous. Instead of booking a package holiday for your next break, why not consider booking a snowshoeing tour with British Snowshoe Tours this year?

What’s Snowshoeing?

If you love the snow, you love being social and you want to have a wintery adventure without sliding down a mountain at speed, you will love snowshoeing in the French Alps. Snowshoeing is just winter hiking, mainly on snow. Strapping snowshoes on and, as a group, making your way through the mountains is about as fun, breathtakingly beautiful and sociable as it gets. Not everyone wants to go on a break to lie in the heat and this is a stark contrast to that. It’s not as difficult or intimidating as skiing or snowboarding and there isn’t too much to learn. However, this means that it’s for everyone, and inclusive snowshoe walking is a great way to get in a little holiday exercise with friends.

Snowshoeing holidays in Europe make a change from your regular winter holiday, and it’s a great way to get out onto the mountain when you’re not interested in snowboarding down one. It is fantastic for great views, bracing fresh air, wildlife, and peace and quiet; in stark contrast to busy, pisted ski areas, which British Snowshoe Tours actively avoid so that you get that peace. So, what can British Snowshoe Tours offer in terms of your next snowshoe walking experience?

Who We Are and What We Do

British Snowshoe Tours is a small, privately owned, owner-operated snowsports company. Since 2007, I have been passionate about snowshoeing tours. I operate in winter in the Chamonix valley, in the Mt Blanc region of the French Alps. I offer guided snowshoe walking excursions for small, English-speaking groups, in and around the Mt Blanc region, which includes parts of France, Switzerland and Italy.
